Design/Build Mentorship Program - Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh

Design/Build Mentorship Program

August 17, 2026

Everyone has something to teach. Everyone has something to learn.

PWB Pittsburgh and BAMP are connecting residential building industry professionals through the Design/Build Mentorship Program, a new member benefit designed to create meaningful one-on-one connections, support professional growth and strengthen the Design/Build industry in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Mentorship isn’t one-size-fits-all—and it isn’t limited by age, title or career stage.

You might be an experienced professional ready to share what you’ve learned. You might be stepping into a leadership role, exploring another area of the industry or looking for perspective from someone who has navigated a similar challenge. You may even have expertise to share in one area while looking for guidance in another.

That’s why you can participate as a mentor, mentee or both.

Why Participate?

This program will go beyond traditional networking—creating an opportunity to build a genuine professional relationship centered on individual goals, interests and experience.

As a mentor, you can:

  • Share your knowledge and real-world experience
  • Strengthen your leadership and communication skills
  • Expand your industry connections
  • Help another professional navigate a challenge, opportunity or next step

As a mentee, you can:

  • Gain personalized guidance based on your goals
  • Learn from relevant real-world experience
  • Explore new skills, roles or areas of the industry
  • Gain perspective to make more informed professional decisions

And experience doesn’t automatically make you a mentor—or rule you out as a mentee. Seasoned professionals can benefit from a fresh perspective, while someone earlier in their career may have valuable expertise to share.

How It Works

Participants will complete a brief application outlining their background, interests and goals. The PWB/BAMP Mentorship Committee will use that information to thoughtfully match mentors and mentees based on experience, interests, career aspirations and what each person hopes to gain from the program.

Matches will participate in a 12-month program cycle, with support from the Mentorship Committee along the way.

Who Can Participate?

The program is open to all professionals, at all career stages and across all roles within eligible companies.

To participate, your company must be a BAMP member in good standing and have at least one employee who is a current PWB member. The individual applying for the program does not need to be that PWB member.

If your company is already a BAMP member but doesn’t currently have anyone participating in PWB, now is a great time to get someone involved and lock in your company’s eligibility for the program. Contact Betsy Scott at [email protected] to learn more.

Applications Open August 25

Applications for the inaugural 2027 program will open Tuesday, August 25, with the first mentor/mentee matches planned for early 2027.

Watch your email and the BAMP website next week for application details.
