Connecting Future Talent with Careers in Residential Construction & Housing

BAMP’s Professional Women in Building Council is partnering with NKBA and KBIS to bring Build My Future: Trades Discovery Day to the Pittsburgh region on October 1, 2026.

This free career exploration event will introduce students, emerging professionals and career changers to the wide range of opportunities available in residential construction and housing—while giving local employers and industry professionals an opportunity to connect with the next generation of talent.

From design, engineering and architecture to construction management, skilled trades, building and remodeling, there’s a lot more to building homes and communities than many people realize.

Build My Future is designed to help participants explore those possibilities, make connections with people working in the industry, and gain practical advice they can use as they take their next career steps.

Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to choose from multiple career discovery sessions based on their interests and explore several different career paths in one day. Featured career areas will include:
