Let Builders Build – Testing 1, 2, 3

BAMP has partnered with Allegheny Strategy Partners to launch Let Builders Build – Pittsburgh, a coordinated public awareness and advocacy campaign focused on addressing the regulatory barriers driving up the cost of housing across our region.

The data is clear: a recent PBA study shows that government regulations account for nearly 62% of lot development costs and more than 26% of homebuilding costs. These added layers of complexity directly impact affordability, limit supply, and make it harder for families to achieve homeownership.

This effort brings a unified industry voice to the conversation—elevating the issue beyond any single builder, project, or municipality. By leading as an organization, BAMP is working to ensure these challenges are understood as systemic issues that require broad, practical solutions.

Let Builders Build – Pittsburgh will roll out through a dedicated website, targeted social media campaign, and coordinated public policy and lobbying efforts. Together, these platforms will educate public officials and the general public while building support for meaningful change.

The campaign is focused on advancing common-sense solutions in four key areas: permitting and oversight, stormwater regulations, the handling of coal and carbonous soils, and local land development and zoning policies. It will also equip lawmakers with a clear, actionable roadmap to reduce unnecessary barriers and expand housing opportunities.
